Curriculum Summary:

This classroom setting with live instructor training will provide you step by step dangerous goods training based on the IATA 62nd edition Dangerous Goods Regulations (also known as DGR). Students have an opportunity to ask questions and interact directly with the instructor. There is plenty of time to practice real-world sample shipments and understand the details of preparing a shipment in compliance with the IATA Regulations. This is a comprehensive full acceptance program covering: dangerous goods classification and identification, packing, marking and labeling, and documentation. Students will walk away with a clear understanding of how to utilize the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations to perform their job safely and effectively.

Certification Details:

This program was developed in accordance with 62nd edition IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations and 2020-2021 ICAO Technical Instructions for the Safe Transport of Dangerous Goods by Air. This is the regulatory compliance training required by all major air carriers including FedEx, UPS, and DHL.

Who Should Take This Training:

IATA guidelines recommend dangerous goods training for any employee who is involved in the preparation, packing and/or handling of dangerous goods. This includes shippers, forwarders, and carriers who interact with dangerous goods / hazardous materials.

Students are instructed in locating relevant information in the DGR and the process for shipping their particular dangerous goods by air according to IATA (ICAO) standards.

Exam and Certificates

A final examination is given at the end of class, and a certificate issued upon successful completion.

Logistics

Lunch is not provided, but a one-hour break is offered where students can visit nearby restaurants or fast food establishments. Each student must bring a current copy of the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations
