This program is for employees shipping small inner packagings of dangerous goods (including consumer commodities such as perfumery products, cosmetics, paint, aerosols). These may be packaged in non-UN specification packaging for all modes of transport.  Limited quantities include what used to be called ORM-D “Consumer Commodity” by the US DOT.  Now, “limited quantity” is a broader classification that no longer requires the DG to be a consumer commodity.  The per package maximum is 30 kg gross weight with differing inner packaging limits based on the substance being shipped but never more than 4 liters per inner packaging.  Limited Quantities must be packaged in combination packaging.  There is no limit to the shipment size, just the per package limit.
