To try and stem the tide of HMH (HazMat Hallucinations) I’ve picked some of the biggest culprits in over half the DG lists I see in adverts for compliance consultancies… Top of the list — Class 4 involves THREE distinct divisions and labels — they are “other flammable substances” (though that’s not the official name). 99% of the charts leave out the Organic Peroxide label OR they just color it yellow like it’s 1999. Class 7 though it has no divisions is rarely depicted with the range of labels needed.
So with a little help I scraped up the definitions of the classes/divisions and put a link to them so that anyone putting up a new poster can look at at least one of the sources for this. 49 CFR was easy to link to — other regulators (other than Canada), not so much. So feel free to poke around at hazmat.ai it’s just a placeholder for useful tools I create or find… no warranty is included…. just sharing the resource. Try clicking on the links for the hazard class and it should bring up the official definition (at least in DOT).
