There’s Still Room for Humans

Wow. Lots of substantive work here. Everyone here is so passionate about what is (often) an obscure topic. None of the papers brought up were wasted, though not all were agreed to — the idea is you put something out there, and you COLLABORATE. Sometimes your idea carries the day, and sometimes your idea is enhanced… but never “shot down.” You aren’t discouraged and don’t hesitate to try again, and go back at it another time to refine your proposal.

That’s not to say there aren’t personalities here, we learn about how us Americans are separated from our British Forebearers by a common language. “Squiggly diggly” comes to mind from the luncheon working group meeting today.

Anyway, at the end of my career I’m proud for myself, and Jose Antonio Perea Perches and all of us at DGTA to be in an environment where ideas win or lose on their own merit and the input of others. Very cool.

There’s still room for humans. Humans are analog, not digital, and in the end that makes a difference.
